MANDATORY DISCLAIMER FOR BRAKE SYSTEMS

Wheel to Caliper Clearance

Nashin intentionally aims to give as much wheel clearance as possible on each kit we design and produce.  Some kits we can clear the stock wheels, however in most cases, stock wheels will not fit over our kits.  Most 17” wheels will clear the outer diameter of the caliper on our 4 piston 328 and 332mm rotor kits, while an 18” wheel is typically required for our 4 piston 355mm rotor kits, and 19” wheels are needed for our 4 piston 380mm kits.

The most important clearance is the spokes of the wheel to the outer face of the caliper.  Do not assume an 18, 19 or even 20+ inch wheel will clear the outer face of the caliper; this is a common mistake.  Final fitment of the wheel to the caliper is the responsibility of the customer.  A wheel that will not clear the brake system is NOT considered a manufacturer’s defect.

Wheel Spacers

Wheel spacers can provide extra clearance to the outer face of the caliper.  This will also space out the entire wheel, widening the track width of the vehicle.  Basic suspension settings will generally not be adversely affected by a slight widening (up to 3mm per side) of the track.  Fender clearances should be checked on lowered cars, and longer lug studs or wheel bolts may be required.  It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure wheel spacers and longer studs are properly specified and installed.  Nashin is NOT responsible for the cost of extended wheel studs, spacers, or labor of installation for such parts.

Brake Vibration

The most common cause of brake vibration is improper bedding of the brakes system, or improper pad selection for the specific driving environment.  Rotor runout may also cause vibration, but precision manufacturing and inspection typically means that runout is not an issue.  All rotor assemblies are inspected for runout prior to shipment.  Under the most extreme conditions, any rotor may distort, but uneven pad deposition is a more typical cause of vibration.  A 2-piece floating rotor and hat assembly is very resistant to any type of physical rotor deformation.   If the system is not properly bedded-in, or street pads are run on an open track, uneven pad deposits will occur causing an ever-worsening vibration.   Failure to immediately address a pad deposition/vibration issue may lead to permanent damage to the rotors.  Please read and understand the bed-in procedures included with each Installation Manual.  If you have any questions, please contact the Nashin Technical Support Department for assistance.  Nashin is not liable for vibrations caused by extreme usage or improper bed-in procedures.

Brake Noise

Certain brake pad compounds make more noise than others.  Proper anti-squeal shim plates between the caliper pistons and backing plate of the pad help reduce the problem.  Anti-squeal lubricants are also available to reduce some of the noise.  Performance pads are more prone to brake squeal.  The customer is responsible for any squeal related problems due to pad selection.
